DISCOVER INDUCTION COOKING

Wolf induction cooking at Bekins

People have used gas and electric cooktops for decades. However, we find many people have not truly experienced the benefits of induction cooking. Visit our showroom to test the very best induction, gas and electric cooktops from brands like Wolf to see which is best for you.

COMPARE INDUCTION COOKING TO GAS AND ELECTRIC

An induction cooktop features many of the benefits found in gas or electric.

  • Like gas, induction cooking responds quickly to temperature change. It heats up quickly and drops to a simmer almost immediately.
  • Like the electric cooktop, you can clean messes with ease and lay the cooktop flush into your countertop. It will act as counter space when you don’t need it for cooking.

Induction also provides more safety features.

  • Unlike gas or electric, the “burner” only heats when a magnetic pan covers most or all of the surface area. If you turn on the cooktop but do not cover the “burner” with a pan, then the surface will not heat up.
  • Unlike gas or electric, you can put your hand on the “burner” moments after you take the pan off, and not burn your hand. It will feel warm but not scalding hot. The induction only heats the pan, so the surface only receives heat from the pan. If you leave the pan on the surface long enough, the surface will heat up.

HOW INDUCTION COOKING WORKS

Induction essentially uses a magnetic charge to heat your pan, so it only works with certain pans. What is the best way to test your pan? See if a magnet sticks. If it sticks, your pan contains the right material to activate the induction.

The magnetic charge can also create a little bit of a buzz sound in the kitchen, which is something you would want to hear in our showroom before buying.

You will only find the best products in our showrooms. How do we pick the best? We run thousands of service calls each year, and on these service calls, our Service Repair Technicians are gathering information on which brands constantly need repair and which brands last.

Through this process, we also learn which brands help fix issues that can arise over the years, and which brands expect you to just buy a new one.

Occasionally, our experts even consult with the brands we carry to help them improve their products. We tell them what works well and what needs to change so we see which brands truly care about your needs.
